Stock 3/8 diameter pushrods, nearly 11.5 inches long in the 24V Cummins, lack sufficient strength for anything beyond stock applications. When pushrod stress exceeds reasonable limits, OEM designs can’t support added valve train loads.
We offer 3/8 and 7/16 diameter 3-piece pushrods crafted from 4130/4135 seamless Chromoly tubing. Standard billet steel tip ends are CNC machined from 86L20 bar stock, then core hardened and triple tempered for superior impact and wear resistance. We engineer pushrods to maximize diameter within available space, spreading loads across cylinder head ports without binding. Larger 7/16 diameter tubing nearly doubles loading capacity before pushrod deflection, making it ideal for all Cummins engines. Aimed at boosting strength, performance, and longevity, we recommend upgrading to our Series 5 pushrods for competition engines. Series 5 provides an extra 105,000 p.s.i. tensile strength compared to Series 3, improving valve timing accuracy and surge resistance.
